Winnipeg man with Delta variant dies – Brandon Sun

The province recorded another COVID-related death on Wednesday in a man in his 30s from the Winnipeg health region linked to the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant.
There were 44 new cases of COVID-19 in the province recorded Wednesday.
However, 11 cases were removed due to case corrections, leaving the net new total at 33, bringing the province’s new total number of lab-confirmed cases to 57,269.
The following is a breakdown of new cases in the province:
• 12 new cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region
• Three new cases in the Northern health region
• Two new cases in Prairie Mountain Health
• 11 new cases in Southern Health–Santé Sud
• 16 new cases in the Winnipeg health region
There were 916 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, of which 69 were in Prairie Mountain Health.
On Wednesday, 105 Manitobans were hospitalized with COVID-19, including 30 people with active COVID-19 and 75 people who are no longer infectious.
A total of 29 Manitoba patients received intensive care for COVID-19, including 11 people with active COVID-19 and 18 people who are no longer infectious but continued to require critical care.
The province has recorded 1,166 COVID-related deaths since the pandemic started and 55,187 people who have recovered from the virus.
