Rappers, and a few rockers, make notable shifts on this weeks Billboard 200, though oddly enough, only one is thanks to a lofty debut. Its a pretty still frame on the chart, as only nine new efforts reach the ranking, with just five placing inside the upper half of the list.
Here are five albums that made big moves on the Billboard 200 chart this week.
No. 1 – Lil Baby – My Turn
One again, Lil Babys My Turn is steady at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and now its pulled ahead and become the biggest album of the year in the U.S. The title ties the record for the most frames in charge of the all-encompassing list in a row with four (which was first managed by The Weeknds After Hours), and it breaks the record for the most spins atop the ranking in total (with five).
It looks like Babys run at the top will conclude in a few days, as Pop Smokes posthumous album is looking to debut in first place.
No. 13 – Haim – Women in Music Pt. III
In a relatively rare sight on the Billboard 200, there are no new titles inside the top 10, as this is a quiet frame. Female pop-rock trio Haims Women in Music Pt. III scores the honor of being the highest debut this time around, as it kicks off at No. 13. The set, the bands third, is their first to miss the highest tier.
No. 34 – Travis Scott – Astroworld
Travis Scotts Astroworld took his career, already one of the most impressive in the hip-hop world, to new heights back in 2018, and it has barely slowed in the months since it first launched. The set produced an eye-popping 10 top 40 smashes, including his first chart-topper, Sicko Mode. Since then, hes landed another two No. 1 hits, and fans cant wait for him to officially kick off the next era of his career.
Astroworld has now spent 100 weeks on the Billboard 200, and further down on the ranking, his previous set Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight falls to No. 116.
No. 76 – Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – Greatest Hits
It may have stalled just one rung shy of ruling the Billboard 200, but their Greatest Hits compilation remains Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers longest-charting effort, and its still going strong to this day. The title has now lived on the all-genre tally for 364 weeks, or exactly seven years, but with tracks like “American Girl, “Free Fallin'” and “I Won’t Back Down” present on the tracklist, is it any wonder people keep consuming the project?
No. 110 – Dreamville & J. Cole – Revenge of the Dreamers III
Officially credited to both Dreamville (a group) and J. Cole (the head of the record label of the same name), the third installment of the Revenge of the Dreamers series was not only the first to break into the Billboard 200s top 10, but it was also the first to hit No. 1. The title has now been present on the ranking for a full year, and it could continue to hold on for months.read more
