Should I Sell The Wedding Dress I Bought Pre-Pandemic?

Q: My fiancé proposed in November 2019 and we were happily planning with excitement until the first round of lockdowns in the U.S. Since March, I have been adjusting to the idea of a virtual wedding ceremony apart from our loved ones. It has been a mixture of mourning, excitement, and oddly enough, neutrality. My dress is the one big purchase I made in January. My mother and maid of honor accompanied me to my fitting and I think it is one of my favorite memories. However, I am in a financial situation where that $2k is probably better to have in the bank and not in a dress right now.
I’m confused, upset and anxious. We know we will say our vows to each other at an in-person ceremony/reception when it is safe to do so (a year? two?). Do I sell the dress?
Is anyone else who is planning a 2020/2021 wedding in this situation? Have you had to change your original plans, attire included? Any tips on selling a wedding dress? Give us your two cents in the comments!read more
