19 new COVID-19 cases, 6 recoveries reported in Sask. – CKOM News Talk Sports

Health officials are reporting 19 new COVID-19 cases and six recoveries on Saturday.
According to a provincial news release, a daily record 2,984 COVID-19 tests were performed on Friday. The previous daily high was 2,873 tests performed on Sept. 18.
There are now a total of 1,863 reported cases in Saskatchewan. There are 15 new cases in the Saskatoon area, two in the central east region and two cases in the Regina area. Two cases previously reported have been removed since the affected people were not Saskatchewan residents.
Of the 1,863 reported cases, 134 are considered active. A total of 1,705 people have recovered.
Of the fifteen new cases reported Saturday in the Saskatoon area, 13 are linked to known cases or events. Investigations are determining the source of the remaining two cases.
Eight people are in hospital receiving inpatient care in the province. Seven people remain in hospital in Saskatoon and one is in the south central zone.
Of the 1,863 cases in the province: 279 cases are travellers, 931 are community contacts, 534 have no known exposures and 119 are being investigated.
There have been 222 cases reported in the south west, 200 in the south central area and 19 in the south east.
An additional 175 cases reported in the central west, 65 in central east.
In the Saskatoon zone, 381 cases have been reported, and 168 cases from the Regina area.
Up north, there have been 132 cases in the north west zone, 76 in the north central and 67 north east
Twenty four COVID-19-related deaths have been documented by public health officials.read more
