Saturday Night Live’s latest Weekend Update kicked off with a look at one of the more offensively preposterous final election 2020 messages from Donald Trump. You know, the one where he dishonestly and incorrectly claims that doctors want the coronavirus pandemic to continue because they get more money if someone dies from COVID-19.
The Trump clip that plays elicits an immediate and vociferous round of boos from SNL’s live studio audience. Which doesn’t usually happen. It may have something to do with the fact that SNL’s studio audience this season is intentionally making room for health care workers, who have been laboring on the front lines of this terrible pandemic since March.
This sketch also serves up a scorcher of a Jared Kushner one-liner, with co-host Colin Jost positing that the Trump son-in-law “always looks like a child dressed up for a funeral.”read more
