Things to Do in Chicago Lollapalooza weekend

So much talent in one spot: This year marks the 30th anniversary of Lollapalooza. This festival makes up for a year without in-person concerts with performances from Tyler, the Creator, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Journey, Foo Fighters, Modest Mouse and more. Enjoy performances from seven stages and nearly 200 bands from all over the world. Local restaurants and businesses are on hand providing high quality food, drinks and treats. Fresh air, fresh produce and live music: While shopping and browsing among dozens of local food vendors and farmers, enjoy live performances from the students and faculty of the Merit School of Music. Throughout the summer, Merit School presents this pop-up concert series throughout Chicago to promote musical arts and offer information on music education. Let your inner artist come out and play: Guests of all ages are welcome to an afternoon of creating art, art workshops, and discussions with local artists. This Saturday features resident artist workshops for abolition and freedom, which are art making workshops led by current Hyde Park Art Center resident artists Aaron Hughes, William Estrada and Dorothy Burge. A summer fest for the entire family. The Jefferson Park arts and music festival is back and celebrating its 20th anniversary. This event is family-friendly and offers a kids zone filled with fun activities for kids of all ages. The main event presents live music with bands covering Pink Floyd, Queen, and Led Zeppelin. Cheers to unfiltered beer: This isnt just a day of tasting hazies, zwickles, and weizens. Its a day to come together and vote to crown the beer champion in three categories: modern haze, traditionally unfiltered, and experimental. Bring your taste buds for an afternoon of beer sampling from over 30 local breweries and help decide whos taking home the crown. Summers are for riding bikes: Celebrate all things biking with a community event centered around family, education, physical activity, and fun. While the grownups learn about safely riding with young ones, kids can ride through the bike safety course and visit the bike decorating booth. Along with childrens music and yoga, parents can have their childs helmet fit checked along with learning about bike maintenance and safety. Keep calm and mustache on: Show off the mustache youve been growing for a day, a week, or years or throw on a fake one for this years crawl. Since its inception this crawl has donated nearly $150,000 to charities supporting the Lakeview community. Tickets include admission to all bars, an official t-shirt, breakfast, giveaways, and gift cards to use during the crawl. The full bar crawl schedule will be released the afternoon of July 30. An evening of wine and wildlife: Stroll through the vast gardens and past animal habitats housing more than 200 species from around the world during this 21+ event. Welcome back to Chinatown: Over the course of the weekend, guests are treated to performances from talent of all ages and features up-and-coming artists from Chinatown. Over 70 vendors highlight the Chinese and AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) culture that can be found throughout Chicago.
